Briefs are one of the most popular styles of women’s underwear, as they’re considered the most comfortable. However, comfort depends on more than just the style — the designers at the Ukrainian brand Naviale are well aware of this. In this article, we’ll look at the features of our briefs, explain how to choose the right size and how to care for them so they last a long time.
Features of Naviale’s women’s briefs
Briefs are a style with a higher rise and wider side panels compared to briefs. They fully cover the buttocks, making them one of the most comfortable options for everyday wear. This style of knickers has remained in fashion for a long time.
Naviale women’s briefs are designed for everyday wear, so the main focus is on fit and comfort. Thanks to our own patterns, adapted to the body measurements of Ukrainian women, the underwear fits well, doesn’t slip down and doesn’t twist.
Style is also a key consideration in the production of this lingerie. Thanks to the well-thought-out cut, the briefs fit comfortably against the body. The seams are finished very neatly, so the lingerie doesn’t chafe, and the elasticated waistband doesn’t dig in. Another advantage is the wide range of styles and sizes available, so you can choose briefs to suit your taste.
Materials and design of briefs
When choosing briefs, it’s worth paying attention not only to the fit but also to the material, as comfort depends on it. The most common materials used for making briefs are:
- cotton — a soft, breathable material suitable for everyday wear;
- microfibre — a lightweight, stretchy fabric that is barely noticeable against the skin and retains its shape well;
- lace — a beautiful and elegant material that enhances any underwear;
- blended fabrics with a small proportion of elastic fibres, which ensure the underwear fits better and retains its shape for longer.
When it comes to design, modern women’s briefs are available in a wide range of styles. Basic plain-coloured styles easily complement an everyday wardrobe, whilst lace or blended options look more elegant.

How to choose briefs?
Choosing underwear is a personal matter, but there are a few universal criteria to help you make the right choice. The main ones are:
- Size. Briefs should fit snugly against the body, but without feeling tight or leaving marks on the skin. A style that’s too tight will dig into the skin, whilst one that’s too loose will slip down.
- Fit. Briefs come in standard and high-waisted styles. The standard fit suits most clothing styles, whilst the high-waisted style stays in place better and is more comfortable during an active day.
- Material. For everyday wear, choose styles made from natural materials. A cotton gusset is a must in any style.
- Design. Plain briefs without embellishments are best suited for tight-fitting clothes. For everyday wear under loose-fitting clothes, any style will do, including lace designs.
Generally, women’s briefs are a hit with everyone. So we recommend adding some new styles to your wardrobe.
Finding the right size
To determine your size accurately, you’ll need two measurements — your waist and hip circumferences. Measure them as follows:
- Waist measurement — measure at the narrowest point, usually 2–3 cm above the navel. The tape should fit snugly but not be too tight.
- Hip circumference — measure at the widest point, including the buttocks. This is the most important measurement when choosing briefs.
Once you’ve taken your measurements, check them against our size chart. If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger one. Bear in mind that sizes may vary slightly depending on the style and material.
Caring for briefs
If you look after your underwear properly, it will retain its shape, colour and attractive appearance for longer. Follow these simple rules:
- Washing. The best option is hand washing or a delicate cycle in the washing machine at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Use a mild detergent for delicate fabrics — harsh washing powders damage the fibres.
- Wringing out. Do not wring out the underwear – this distorts the elastic and distorts the shape of the garment. After washing, gently squeeze out the excess water by hand and smooth it out.
- Drying. Dry flat, away from direct sunlight and radiators. High temperatures damage elastane and polyamide, causing the fabric to lose its elasticity.
- Ironing. Lingerie with lace and made from delicate fabrics does not usually need ironing. If necessary, iron through a cloth at the lowest setting.
This is the simplest way to keep your underwear in good condition for as long as possible. Also, check the label on each item: the manufacturer provides care instructions tailored to the fabric composition.
